I am delighted to take you on a journey to the best that Italy has to offer. In this amazing 11 day journey, we will visit the Capital of Italy, Rome, onwards through Tuscanny visiting Sienna, Pisa, Florence and La Spezia, and then checking out Milan, Baveno, and Venice.

JOURNEY PLAN

Day 1. ROME TO SIENA TO FLORENCE

MyPeople, welcome to Rome the Capital city of Italy! Today after you arrive, we are driving through Bella Italia towards Tuscany to visit Siena.

We will go by the beautiful vineyards through the Tuscany wine-producing region of Chianti towards the medieval city of Siena. We will visit the iconic Piazza del Campo – an impressive seashell shaped square in the heart of Siena and enjoy the atmosphere where everyone is relaxing in the square!

When you experience the excitement of the Palio di Siena horse race (July 2 and August 16), you will feel there is a special aura about this city. Take a glimpse around and you’ll see historic buildings, including the amazing architecture of Palazzo Pubblico and the Mangia Tower. Stroll through the ancient cobbled streets to marvel at the striped marble cathedral and indulge in shopping for some of Siena’s attractive ceramic pottery!

Drive on towards Florence for some rest and recuperation for the evening!

After a good night’s rest we today are headed towards to Cinque Terre that has been listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage site.This will be an unforgettable experience dedicated to discovering few of the uniquely-designed fishing villages that are suspended between sea and land – Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso. When we arrive at La Spezia, we will be taken across to the villages by either a boat or a train to see the tiny seaside towns. Feel transported to another world as you stroll along the narrow streets and the small alleyways to see the enchanting beaches and lush green vegetation that surrounds these towns with tiny natural ports.

Lo and Behold! MyPeople, now we are setting out to witness another one of the UNESCO listed seven architectural Wonders of the World –Leaning Tower of Pisa. We will need tickets to enter to the Leaning Tower of Pisa if you desire and climb the monument to enjoy breath-taking views from the top. We will be on the Square of Miracles where the Leaning Tower, Cathedral and Baptistery were built in the 14th Century!

After capturing great photographs in Pisa, we head back to Florence and wait in anticipation to visit the Home of the Renaissance Masters the next day

MyPeople, we are in the “Cradle of the Renaissance”, and our day will begin with a walking tour of Florence. We will go around the Piazza Della Signoria–a free open air museum–to discover and explore the world-class works of art and sculptures by the unmatched Renaissance Masters like Michelangelo, Cellini and Giambologna to name a few. We will see the Old Palace of the powerful Medici rulers and the Ponte Vechio too. If we have time, we would like to walk you to the 12th Century Basilica of Santa Croce which is the final resting place of Michelangelo and Galileo Galilei, to name a few!

I’m sure you will admire the leather craft of Italy, MyPeople. We will help you understand the region’s traditional leather making technique through a demonstration that will impress you.

MyPeople, Florence is magnetic, romantic and busy. Did you know Michelangelo, Dante Alighieri, Gucci and Roberto Cavalli were born here? This is also an amazing place for bargains and this is why you get great finds in the markets. MyPeople, if you scream for ice-cream, we will lead you to it – a treat from us! Enjoy the typical Italian gelato while we revel in the lovely city.

After we say ci vediamo to dear Florence, we have a fantastic TimeOut surprise for you! A once in a lifetime opportunity to visit the world class Ferrari Museum at Maranello – it’s an interactive museum with exhibitions and films dedicated to the iconic sports car designed by Enzo Ferrari and also has a Driving Stimulator!

We proceed onwards for our night halt in Milan.

FERRARI MUSEUM – EUROS 35

Today morning we explore the tiny township of Baveno located on the shores of Lake Maggiore and in the midst of rich and abundant nature of Italian Lake District. Take in the beauty of the majestic Italian Alps that lie in the backdrop of the beautiful islands of Lake Maggiore. Here we will take a boat cruise to see the Isola Madre, the largest island in the Isole Borromee archipelago, the Isola dei Pescatori, and on our visit to Isola Bella we will see the baroque palace which has an Italian style garden where white peacocks dance and enchant us.

MyPeople, onwards to Milan to walk around and see one of the oldest churches in the world Maria Nascente, an acclaimed Opera house La Scala, and fashionable boutiques like Armani, Gucci, Prada, Versace to name a few. Of course, the famed Leonardo da Vinci’s mural ‘The Last Supper’ is preserved carefully in the UNESCO-listed Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie. Learn about the city’s history and claim to fame as a fashion capital.

You will be awed by the sight of the great Castello Sforzesco which we visit next, a perfect combination of Italy’s history and architecture which will transport you to 15th century Milanese history.

During your free time visit the prestigious world famous La Scala Opera House which has witnessed most famous works by Rossini and Verdi! Adorned with gold and velvet, the interiors of La Scala are impressive in their grandeur. You can peer at the stage from the public box and take a peek inside the La Scala Museum. Indulge in shopping for your favourites and browse the stylish boutiques for which Milan is famous for. Stroll through the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele and while away your time window shopping or just sit inside one of the fancy cafes and enjoy the luxe feeling that Milan offers.

Our journey now takes us towards the Queen of the Adriatic Sea – Venice!! A jewel in the crown of Italy!

Welcome MyPeople! To one of the most romantic cities in the world. This “Floating City” was built on water in nearly 12 BC. We will go to Saint Mark’s island to visit the historical ‘Bridge of Sighs’, ‘the Doge’s Palace’ and will be dancing with the pigeons on St. Mark’s square where we will see classic Byzantine architecture reflected in St. Mark’s Basilica and Bell Tower! Did you know that the Venetians were the first to discover how to add colour to glass? We will experience a glass-making demonstration by one of the Glass Maestros of Murano!

After biding arrivederci to Venezia, we will cruise through Tuscany’s beautiful hillside and reach Rome.

As you surround yourself with more legendary works of Michelangelo, Raphael and Bernini, you will find that Rome is a welcoming city to the first time visitor. You are now right into the heart of Rome – Caput Mundi – Capital of the World – this is where the action is! We will see Piazza Navona with its Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi.

Use your Evening in Rome TimeOut today and we will show you this majestic city as we drive past and stop over at many monuments lit up in all their past glory. You will go past many sights and admire the Colosseum, the Arch of Constantine and the Circus Maximus, St. Peter’s Bascilica, Piazza Venezia and while driving along the banks of the Tiber you will see the imposing Castel Sant Angelo closeby.

MyPeople, we surely have to join in the Roman tradition of throwing a coin in the Trevi Fountain and make a wish and then relax on the Spanish steps and mingle with the locals and tourists.

ROME BY NIGHT – EUROS 20

Rise and shine and echo the words of Julius Caesar, MyPeople! Veni Vidi Vici! Which literally translates to, “I came, I saw and I conquered”. We will join our local expert who will take us to Vatican’s grand museums which includes the Sistine Chapel and Saint Peter’s Basilica. As we conquer the beautiful city of Rome we will see as it was built by the Romans in an era that existed before the birth of Jesus Christ! See the grandeur of the Colosseum, another architectural wonder of the world, the Roman Forum, Circus Maximus, the Grand Pantheon which was commissioned in 27 BC and lots more! You will be going to see the Time Elevator Show – a surprise from us where you will actually be transported back in time and the past becomes alive!

Rome is perfect for all kinds of tourists. It always has a busy atmosphere and with its numerous pizzerias, ristorantes and lovely al fresco (outdoor) cafes and bars, what’s not to love? MyPeople, during your relaxed hours, visit the shops if you like: we know where you could get the best bargains.

MyPeople, we will visit the stunning town of Capri, on the last day of our tour. Capri is an island in Italy’s Gulf of Naples, and is famous for its landscapes, classy beach resorts and stores that sell beautiful handmade leather sandals and signature limoncello liqueur.

It is an island in the Tyrrhenian Sea, which we will travel to by a coach and then cross the deep blue sea by a high speed boat. Thereafter we will visit Anacapri, a hilltop village with wonderful views, and enjoy a chair-lift ride up Monte Solaro – Monte Solaro is a mountain on the island of Capri. With an elevation of 589 m, its peak is the highest point of Capri. In your relaxed hours, we recommend you to explore the main town of Capri. You can also take a boat tour to Capri’s famous Blue Grotto, a dark cavern where the sea glows electric blue, a result of sunlight passing through an underwater cave. If time permits, we will visit the Faraglioni rocks, which were formed by erosion from the oceanic waves. They are an amazing sight to see and can be spotted from various coasts of Italy. Capri is well worth the trip from Rome!

Today we will transfer you back to Rome airport, to take your return flight home. Arrivederci MyPeople!
